After being in business since 2013, our Founder realized that the journey to opening and operating a successful tax office would have been much easier with the right guidance and support. ​

That experience became the foundation for everything SEDT Tax Pro stands for today. SEDT Tax Pro was created to fill that gap to be the program she wished had existed when she was starting out.

Since starting my business in 2013, I have learned that one of the biggest challenges for new tax professionals is simply knowing where to begin.Â

When I first started, I had the drive and the ambition, but I often found myself wishing there had been someone willing to share their knowledge, walk me through the process, and help me avoid the mistakes that come with figuring everything out on your own.

The truth is, building a tax business does not have to be as complicated or overwhelming as it can feel when you are starting from scratch. ​ That is exactly why I created SEDT Tax Pro. To help others avoid the confusion and uncertainty I experienced and to provide the tools, training, and support needed to build a successful tax business with confidence. ​

My goal is simple. To empower aspiring entrepreneurs with the education, resources, and community they need to achieve financial independence and create lasting opportunities for themselves and the communities they serve. ​ You do not have to figure this out alone. That is what we are here for.

With more than 40 years of experience in the tax industry, Dr. Phyllis Woodard has spent her career doing far more than preparing tax returns.

She has built businesses, mentored professionals, educated aspiring entrepreneurs, and helped countless individuals discover that the tax profession can be a pathway to financial independence, business ownership, and lasting legacy.

Dr. Woodard created the SEDT Tax Pro training curriculum because she witnessed too many talented people enter the profession without the support they needed to succeed. She believes no one should have to figure it out alone.
